Eat LocalLocal food tastes great! Eating locally is healthier, fresher, and better for the environment. On average, your dinner travels 1,518 miles to get in your plate [2]. This increases carbon emissions produced during transportation. Also, for food to travel that long, a lot of preservatives and other added, non-essential ingredients are required. Don’t forget: by choosing locally-grown foods, you’re giving your dollars to local farmers, rather than the big guys.
